As I was making dinner last night, the idea of plain quinoa sounded boring, so after some inspiration from Bustle, I made something we really loved and hope you will too!
I took 1 c. quinoa and drizzled some Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a little dried thyme, salt, pepper, and granulated garlic and toasted it in our sauce pan. You could prob also do this without the oil, but I felt it added a lot of flavor, toast for 3-5 min- watch carefully because it can burn quickly. Then cook according to package instructions. After it’s finished cooking adjust seasonings to taste
Ingredients
- Quinoa
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Dried Thyme (I feel like rosemary subbed here would also be amazing!)
- Granulated Garlic
- Salt and Pepper
Method
- Drizzle some Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a little dried thyme, salt, pepper, and granulated garlic, and your quinoa (no water) and toasted it in your sauce pan. Don’t go too heavy on the seasonings here since you can’t taste at this point what your doing.
- Toast for 3-5 min- watch carefully because it can burn quickly. Then cook according to package instructions.
- After it’s finished cooking adjust seasonings to taste (I added quite a bit of garlic when I was done)
